A firm believer in authentic sound adding to the experience of a multimedia product, I ensured the cost of producing our own themed music for the nine characters was a prime consideration for the SEEDA funding application. The music, therefore, was commissioned specifically on a character basis, i.e. each character had been designed to have their own signature tune, which also became the ambient music for their story strip, and another for the tours / facts for the different disciplines/lifestyles each character represented. I met Seanine Joyce, a composer and orchestrator, on the Digital Horizons 2010 programme, who was very happy to help. Seanine sourced musicians who were skilled in playing medieval instruments, and vocalists to produce the music tracks below:
