Hyde 900 Annual Exhibitions
The Digital Media students and myself were involved in creating exhibits and images for banners regarding the proposed HLF funded project in bringing Hyde Abbey and King Alfred to life. One of the projects was to research how the stone was brought to Winchester, where from and the type of stone used. I worked with Dave Stewart, a geologist, to develop a series of reference stills and 3D images to depict the journey from a quarry at Quarr on the Isle of Wight to Winchester. This highlighted further research regarding the river bed being deep enough to allow the boats carrying the stone right up to Winchester.
We also provided an game application to put the box of bones together to form a single skeleton (Holly Chun and Natalie Jones, BSc Digital Media Development students), and an app to use with a few QR codes at the Hyde Abbey entrance. Early work for the later 2017 HLF funded project.
Further work was provided for the 2016 and 2017 exhibitions as shown in the gallery link here: http://thetalkingwalls.co.uk/wordpress/index.php/nggallery/page/1?page_id=3466
