Major Project (Client) Brief: [Outcome = Dunster Castle]
Aims:
- To research and select a clients brief or competition; to develop a project proposal which will fulfil the aims of the unit and to provide a vehicle or the expression and further development of skills, knowledge and creative abilities acquired during the course as a whole.
- To examine the market context and cultural identity of the consumer group for a real project, and make substantiated design proposals based upon the information gained.
- To develop a greater understanding of the relationship of designer and client.
- To develop a creative solution to a demanding brief via an extended design process, culminating in the production of a computer animation or detailed storyboard or computer aided imagery within negotiated guidelines.
- To manage, document and present all stages of the project in a professional manner
Major Project (Issue) Brief: [Outcome = Ancient Woodland ‘Exbury Tree Trail’]
Aims:
- To provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate creative potential by means of personally motivated projects on an ‘issue’ based topic e.g. environmental, social, political
- To allow students to use any aspect of computer animation or computer aided time-based medium (either possibly combined with other media) for expression of their projects.
- To stimulate students to experiment and extend skills and knowledge gained during the Course by the production of substantial bodies of work which are thematically linked.
- To extend the students’ personal skills via these highly individual tasks, which will demand enthusiasm and which are not bound by the constraints of a clients brief.
